Ayali files papers from Dakha

SAD leader Manpreet Singh Ayali filed his nomination papers from Dakha constituency to Returning Officer Sanjiv Kumar, SDM-West, here today.

He was accompanied by his brother Harkinder Singh and Jagdish Singh Gorsian. The Returning Officer said: “The papers were filed as per norms and there was no violation. The candidate (Ayali) took the pledge before the RO (which is the new feature introduced by the Election Commission of India) that he will not woo voters in the form of cash and kind (the standard format) and will contest in a transparent manner.”

Before going for nominations, Ayali went to Gurdwara Shaheedganj, Mushkiana Sahib, Mullanpur, where ardas was held in presence of supporters and party workers. From there, Ayali reached the SDM West office to file nominations.

Assets

Immovable: Rs 13.72 crore (current property value)

Movable: Rs 2.58 crore

Properties: He has 1.86 acre land at Ayali Khurd village worth Rs 95 lakh (ancestral), 9.52 acre at Gorsian Kadar Baksh (Rs 71.97 lakh), 15.49 acre at Birmi (9.63 crore), 12.50 acres at Palian Kalan (43.69 lakh) and commercial property at Mullanpur worth Rs 47.05 lakh.

His two residences include one Panchsheel Enclave worth Rs 18.19 lakh and at Ayali Khurd worth Rs 1.33 crore.

Ayali also declared that he was not a graduate and his highest educational qualification is BA-I.

Last election: Ayali contested the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from Ludhiana. He had then declared movable assets worth Rs 2.13 crore and immovable worth Rs 16.86 crore.

Total income: Rs 39.07 lakh

Movable assets: Rs 2.58 crore

Cash in hand: Rs 1.50 lakh

Vehicles: Toyota Fortuner (Rs 10 lakh)

Jewellery: Rs 6.50 lakh

Shares in companies: Rs 2.06 crore

Spouse: Rs 14.69 lakh
