Simarjit Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains, who recently floated the Lok Insaf Party, are contesting from Atam Nagar and South constituencies, respectively, for the second consecutive time.

Balwinder had won the last election with a thumping majority as he polled 49,594 votes, while SAD’s Hakam Singh Gyaspura was the trialing candidate who polled 17,361 votes. Similarly, Simarjit polled 51,063 votes, while Hira Singh Gabria of SAD polled 22,560 votes.

With the election just round the corner, the entire Bains family has been campaigning door to door to woo voters.

There is an interesting way of campaigning in the constituencies of both brothers.

In Atam Nagar, from where Simarjit is contesting, his brother Balwinder is proving to be a star campaigner, while in Ludhiana South from where Balwinder is contesting, his younger brother Simarjit has turned out to be his star campaigner.

Family members of both brothers, too, are not leaving any stone unturned in wooing voters. Balwinder’s wife Jaswinder and daughter Amanjot Kaur, Simarjit’s wife Surinder Kaur, son Ajaypreet Singh and daughter Harshdeep Kaur are campaigning door to door and participating in nukkad meetings.

Their children are making full use of social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and even WhatsApp to woo area residents.

Their brothers — Karamjit and Paramjit— who are not active in politics, are also devoting the entire day in making poll strategies.

Mother Kashmir Kaur and father Mohan Singh Bains are an ultimate morale booster for both brothers. Both sons reportedly share the entire day’s feedback with their parents and also discuss the election strategy.

Balwinder’s nephew Harpreet and daughter Amanjot said they keep a notebook with them during campaigns, in which they write complaints of people and later share it with family members to find immediate solution.
