On the second day of filing of nomination papers for the Punjab Assembly elections, one nomination was received for the Kharar constituency.
District Election Officer DS Mangat said BSP candidate Harbhajan Singh filed his nomination papers at the SDM’s office in front of Returning Officer Amaninder Kaur Brar.
However, no nominations were received for the SAS Nagar and Dera Bassi constituencies.
He said any participating candidate could file nomination papers at the prescribed counters in the office of the Returning Officer concerned till January 18 from 11 am to 3 pm on any day.
District Election Officer DS Mangat said nominations could not be filled on January 14 and 15 due to holidays.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on January 19 and till January 21, candidates can withdraw nomination.
