BJP leader Ravinder Jugran today alleged that Chief Minister Harish Rawat was protecting corrupt officials working in the Electricity Department.

Jugran, while addressing mediaperons, said the wrong policy of the Uttarakhand government to promote incompetent and corrupt officials had hampered the growth of the state power units, including UJVNL, UPCL and PITCUL.

“The anti-corruption bureau of Jharkhand has filed a case against Managing Director of UJVNL SN Verma for committing irregularities, but he continues to be at large,” said Jugran.

He said the Jharkhand government had immediately sacked the MD but in Uttarakhand he was not only given a powerful post but is the favourite of the Chief Minister.
