The BJP today dared Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his ministerial colleagues to move court if they felt that the charges made in the chargesheet submitted by it to the Governor were false.
In a statement issued here today, BJP spokesperson and MLA Randhir Sharma said the remarks by the Chief Minister that it was a document worth being assigned to the dust bin clearly reflected his feudalistic mentality. “Even before looking at the contents of the chargesheet, the CM and Congress leaders remarks shows that they do not have faith in democratic norms,” he said.
The BJP leader said being a six-time Chief Minister, who came to power on the promise of providing clean administration, should have handed over the BJP chargesheet to any independent investigative agency.
He said the BJP was well aware of its duty as a responsible opposition and would do its duty at every stage. “This is just part-I of the chargesheet, so Congress leaders must wait and watch for the next part, which will contain much more serious charges of omission and commission by the Congress regime,” said Sharma.
He made it clear that BJP would not succumb to such threats and pressure tactics by the ruling Congress, during whose rule the state was plagued by rampant corruption.
