The Delhi poll debacle is the beginning of BJP’s downfall and it would meet the same fate in future assembly polls. The people have rejected the nine-month-rule of PM Narendra Modi by confining his party to just three seats.

This was stated by former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda while interacting with media-persons at MLA Geeta Bhukkal’s residence today. The people had given a befitting reply to the BJP for making hollow promises.

“The BJP had got a lead in 60 assembly segments during the Lok Sabha this got reduced to just three seats in nine months. This is a clear indication that the people are not happy with the government,” he said.

Accusing the BJP of adopting double standard over the retirement of state employees, he said the BJP advocated 60 years as retirement age in Delhi while it has reduced it to 58 from 60 in Haryana. This is an anti-employee decision, he added.

Hooda slammed the government for the erratic power to rural areas. We supplied it for over 20 hours but these days the villagers have to be content with just two to three hours. The state should clear that where the electricity is going,” he said.

He criticised the BJP for imposing 5 per cent more VAT on petrol. As per the international market, the price of petrol and diesel should be Rs25 and Rs20 per litre, Hooda added. — TNS
