Jat Mahasabha, Panchpuri, has refrained itself from making any directive to its members to support a specific party in the upcoming Assembly elections to be held on February 15.
Jat Mahasabha president Chaudhari Devpal Singh Rathi, at a meeting of its new executive committee office-bearers here today, said, “To ensure that Mahasabha is not dragged into political matters, all members has been asked to vote for candidates of their choice. Earlier too, the Jat Mahasabha, Panchpuri, has refrained from going for any party or candidate as we don’t want to get a tag of any outfit. We think, honest candidates, irrespective of their political affinity, should be given priority. We will appeal to our members and political parties to look into the issues related to the Mahasabha,” said Rathi, a four-time president of the Jat Mahasabha.
He also termed baseless the allegations of fund misuse through Chaudhari Charan Singh Charitable Trust formation that was formed by 11 members of the Jat Mahasabha.
“I will give all of my property to the person who proves that the Trust has been misused. The Trust was formed for charity works for poor and deprived segment of society. It is not confined to the Jat community. No money was collected from anyone as the trust was founded by only 11 people. Now, we have decided to dismantle the organisation (Trust) as questions have been raised even before we could take out any charity work. A decision has been taken to take disciplinary action against the members who have tried to malign the image of the people who founded this trust. They did it just to settle the score with me as I have been elected president of Jat Mahasabha for four times consecutively,” he added.
Jat Mahasabha general secretary Chaudhari Ravindra Malik demanded beautification of the newly-built Chaudhari Charan Singh Ganga Ghat, installation of a statue in memory of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh and allocation of land for construction of Jat Bhawan.
Office-bearers Chaudhari Babul Singh, RS Khairva, Sudesh Chaudhari, Naresh Baliyan, Virendra Arya, Dharmendra Chaudhari, Rakam Singh, Harendra Sehwarat, Mange Ram of Jat Mahasabha among others were present.
