Ex-INLD leader to join Congress

Balwinder Punia, former district INLD president who had resigned from the party three days ago, today announced to join the Congress on September 15 in the presence of former Union Minister Kumari Selja.

Punia had contested Assembly elections from the Ambala City constituency in 2014 on the SAD ticket, while the INLD had offered him its support.

Punia will hold a meeting with his supporters in Ambala City where Selja will be the chief guest. Two months ago, a senior BJP leader and former MLA Jasbir Malour had joined the Congress.
