For Dhillon, family acts as pillar of strength

Like family members of other candidates, kin of Congress nominee Deepinder Singh Dhillon have also took up the challenge of the Assembly poll and started campaigning for him in Dera Bassi.Deepinder’s wife Rupinder Kaur, his two sons Udayvir and Tanvir Dhillon, brother-in-law VPS Virk, daughter-in-law Harkirat Dhillon are involved in the election campaigning in various capacities.
While Deepinder Singh Dhillon is busy holding public meetings to woo voters, other family members are visiting door-to-door, seeking votes for him in Zirakpur.
Dhillon’s wife Rupinder Kaur, along with her daughter-in-law Harkirat Kaur Dhillon is focusing on the Zirakpur area to garner support for her husband, who is contesting his toughest battle against SAD-BJP candidate NK Sharma and AAP choice Bibi Sarabjit Kaur.
Meanwhile, Udayvir Dhillon, who did LLB from Punjabi University, Patiala, is taking care of the whole Dera Bassi constituency. Apart from meeting young voters and informing them about the Congress’ vision, he also addresses public meetings, with his brother Tanvir Dhillon.
Asked what prompted the family to join Deepinder, Udayvir said, “We all know he has worked very hard for this constituency. We joined him to give him the moral support,” he added.
