Pithoragarh, May 16
The infighting within the BJP in Didihat district surfaced today as the party’s district executive passed a resolution recommending dismissal of former district president and Zila Panchayat chairperson Kishan Singh Bhandari.
The resolution was passed by supporters of Didihat BJP MLA Bishan Singh Chufal. The district unit accused Bhandari of working against the party. “The proposal has been sent to state party president Ajay Bhatt,” said Didihat BJP president Dhan Singh Bhandari.
Meanwhile, Kishan Singh Bhandari refuted the allegations. “I am a sincere worker of the party. I am obedient to the party, not to Chufal. He is against me as I am front runner for the party ticket from Didihat,” said Bhandari.
Bhandari said restlessness prevailed in the Chufal camp when he arranged drinking water for residents of Didihat town last week.
