Srinagar: Independent legislator Engineer Sheikh Rashid on Sunday accused former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of “double standard” on the Kashmir issue by advocating conversion of the Line of Control into a permanent border. Rashid said Omar in his New York speech had strengthened the New Delhi’s viewpoint on the Kashmir issue by blaming Pakistan for putting hurdles in its resolution. He termed it ironic that Omar had strongly projected India’s “unrealistic and misleading’ viewpoint on Kashmir. —TNS
