He lauded the working of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and said the party would retain power in the 2017 Assembly elections as people would vote for mass development carried out by it.

He said, “The party is also seriously preparing for the Assembly elections in Uttarakhand, as people of the hill state too want an able government like the one in Uttar Pradesh”.

“Both BJP and Congress have fooled the people of Uttarakhand for the past 16 years. Now, people want change and are looking for an alternative in the Samajwadi Party. Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav are taking interest in restructuring the party organisational unit in Uttarakhand to ensure it replicates its political success of Uttar Pradesh here too,” said Om Veer.

State SP spokesperson Kaxi Chand said, “Om Veer has directed them to focus on reaching out to voters in the state.”

Youth wing sate president Ashish Yadav said the party would start enrolling new members in the state.
