KANGRA, OCTOBER 6
All-India Defence Personnels Welfare Association today demanded that cases of sedation be registered against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam for allegedly demoralising the armed forces by demanding a proof of the surgical strikes carried out in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) on September 28.
Lt Col (retd) Shakti Chand, president of the association, raised the demand in a press conference here today.
He said the entire world had appreciated India’s action but politicians within the country were demanding proofs of the surgical attack for their political vested interests. He described the statements of both the political leaders as ‘unethical and illogical’. Chand said Nirupam, a senior Congress leader, went to the extend of describing the surgical attacks as fake.
These statements had allegedly demoralised the Indian armed forces and hurt the ex-servicemen too.
Such politicians should be sent to the Siachin Glacier in winters and to the Rajasthan border in peak summers and then would they understand the conditions of the armed forces, the ex-serviceman said. He demanded that cases of sedation be initiated against them to boost the morale of the armed forces.
Members of the All-India Defence Personnels Welfare Association were ready to support the armed forces if there was an armed conflict between India and Pakistan, he added.
