Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief Saifuddin Soz has asked all party MLAs to vote in favour of National Conference candidates in the Legislative Council elections.
According to a handout issued by the party, Soz convened a meeting of party MLAs at Jammu today. Those present in the meeting included Nawang Rigzin Zora, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, Gulzar Ahmed Wani, Dildan Namgyal, Ashgar Karbalai, and Mumtaz Ahmed Khan.
Soz requested the MLAs to vote for the two candidates fielded by the National Conference for election to the J&K Legislative Council. The legislators assured Soz that they would vote for the NC candidates.
The legislators raised several other issues like shortage of medicines needed to be provided to patients that have been tested positive for Swine flu. The members also complained that the masks needed by the public were not available.
The members also raised the issue of funds that were not being made available for infrastructure-related works in different parts of the state.
Soz assured the members that these issues would be taken up with the Governor whom he would meet shortly.
