JAMMU: As many as 76 J&K Police personnel among 946 awardees were given the President’s Police Medal on the eve of Independence Day, the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

As many as 76 J&K Police personnel among 946 awardees were given the President’s Police Medal on the eve of Independence Day, the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

A President’s Police Medal for Gallantry, 60 Police Medals for Gallantry and 15 Police Medals for Meritorious Service were awarded.

The Police Medal for Meritorious Services was given to SSP Rakesh Kumar Dhar, SSP Tejinder Singh, CPO Aejaz Ahmad, DSP Devinder Singh, Inspector Zahid Hussain Mir, Inspector Vishal Shoor, Inspector Mohd Ashraf Bhat, SI Mohd Ashraf Padder, SI Mohinder Pal Ramdasi, ASI Tej Krishan Pandith, ASI Mohd Sadiq, Head Constable Abdul Hamid Mir, HC Tej Krishan, selection grade constable, Ravinder Singh and Sgct Susheel Kumar. Inspector Syed Afaq Ahmad has been awarded “Union Home Minister Medal for Excellence in Investigation”. —TNS
