Online digital marketing course
UK-based University of Southampton is rolling out its Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in Digital Marketing: Challenges and Insights from October 19, 2015. The course: This three-week course will acquaint students with new concepts and applications of digital marketing. It is based on an innovativestorytelling methodology wherein learners would be encouraged to share their own stories as consumers or marketers which can be beneficial to other learners as a whole.
The course will focus on the emerging trends in digital culture and online consumer behaviour, data analytics and privacy. The validity of these developments is examined throughout the course.
The MOOC will require approx three hours of study per week. Week 1 will introduce students to the course, the tutors and how it all works. Changes in online behavior and the impact of such change on supported organisations will also be examined. Week 2 will discuss developments in the technologies being used and the relationship between “online” and “offline”. Week 3 will examine the challenges as well as the opportunities in deriving value from the vast amounts of social data being generated in an age when uncertainty about personal privacy and control of online assets becomes increasingly important.
