BTech courses

Mahindra École Centrale (MEC) - College of Engineering, Hyderabad, is inviting applications for admission to its BTech. programme (2015-2019) at its Hyderabad campus. Formed in collaboration with École Centrale Paris (now CentraleSupélec) and JNTU Hyderabad, MEC is an international quality, technology school with assured career progression for engineering aspirants. MEC is approved by AICTE and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Hyderabad.

Eligibility: Students who have a Plus II or equivalent from any statutory board with 60 per cent aggregate marks in all subjects or equivalent grade for the students from IB or other approved board are eligible to apply. The admissions will be granted on the basis of either JEE (qualify in JEE Main examination: eligible to write the JEE Advanced 2015 exam or rank up to 1,50,000) or SAT scores (minimum 1800 in subjects which should include mathematics, physics and chemistry).

Seats: 240. Sixty each for the four courses offered in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

MSc in Administrative Studies

Missouri State University (MSU), US, has invited applications for its Administrative Studies Graduate Programme, titled Master of Science in Administrative Studies (MSAS). The inter-disciplinary programme is aimed at enhancing administrative abilities with core focus in areas like cyber security, applied communication, criminal justice, homeland security, environmental management, sports management, and producing and screenwriting.

The course: The 33-hour (minimum) programme involves 10 academic departments across five colleges, viz, College of Arts and Letters, College of Business, College of Health and Human Services, College of Natural and Applied Sciences and the College of Public Affairs. It is designed for candidates with established career paths with a minimum of three years of work experience. Students can take course work that builds competencies in organisational communication, information systems, personnel issues, legal/political issues, budgeting, and research design/methods.

Eligibility: Students with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university can apply. Besides, a GPA of 3.00 is considered evidence for an applicant to handle graduate work and hence, is preferred. Applicants for the MSAS degree with a GPA less than 3.00 are strongly encouraged to submit other indicators of their potential to succeed, such as GRE/GMAT scores, proof of a strong work experience, portfolio and the like.

Date of commencement:The session of the programme will start in July 2015.

Duration: 18 months to 2 years

Fee: Tuition fees for the course is $16533

Fellow programme in management

International Management Institute, Delhi, has opened admissions to its Fellow Programme in Management. It is a full time residential doctoral level program in management approved by AICTE. All Indian candidates admitted to the programme are exempted from tution fee and get free text books and reading material. Besides, they also get a stipend of Rs25,000 per month for the first two years which is increased to Rs30,000 for the next two years. In the third and fourth year, an annual contingency grant of Rs30,000 is also awarded to the students.

Eligibility: The candidates for the programme must have a masters' degree or its equivalent in any discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or a bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade point average plus minimum of one year's work experience. Or any professional qualifications such as CA, CMA and CS with a minimum of 55 per aggregate marks.

Admission criteria: Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria are required to take Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs. Scores of CAT taken on or after 01 July, 2014 will be considered valid for admission to the session of 2015. Alternatively, the candidates could appear in GMAT or the test conducted by IMI for the programme.
