Shell India is set for the first phase of registration for Shell Eco-marathon 2017. Shell Eco-marathon is a unique competition that challenges students around the world to design, build and drive the most energy-efficient car. The competition encourages student teams to take to the track to see who goes further on the least amount of fuel.

The first phase of the registration process that opened on July 12 will close on August 11. The Indian finalists will compete with those from other Asian countries in Singapore in March 2017. 

Shell Eco-marathon includes many energy types and sparks passionate debate around the future of energy and mobility. Started in 1939, the competition is seen as a festival of ideas and innovation that provides a platform for engineers to showcase their talent while addressing the global energy challenges.

Mitsubishi Electric Cup

Registrations are now open for the second edition of Mitsubishi Electric Cup — a national level automation competition for students.

This competition aims at providing challenging platform for budding engineers to collaborate, innovate and excel in the field of automation and contributes to the National Mission of Skill Development

In the maiden edition of the competition the winner team ‘Inferno from Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra’ walked away with prize worth Rs 1 lakh. The second edition of the competition invites participation from technical institutions across the country. Students are required to integrate Mitsubishi Electric’s factory automation products (including PLC, servo, inverter and human-machine interface, etc.), build up and achieve an analogous system of intelligent manufacturing and energy saving management application, based on e&eco-f@ctory concept while taking e-f@ctory system as the trunk.

The competition aims at improving the ability of college students for engineering application, arouse their interests in learning engineering technology, build up an innovation capacity and cooperation spirit in them, as well as improve self management ability and communication skills. The theme of second edition of the Mitsubishi Electric Cup is "Intelligent Manufacturing for greener tomorrow", under which students will be asked to independently design and produce a complete set of devices / models by using Mitsubishi Electric factory automation products, the control system shall be built up based on e&eco-F@ctory concepts.

The last date for registration and submission of proposal is September 1, 2016. The top 35 teams selected will be announced on September 15, 2016 and these teams will have to submit their intermediate reports by December 15, 2016.

The final competition will be held on February 16 to 18, 2017 at the College of Engineering, Pune (COEP).
