PTU releases admission brochure for 550 seats

Having remained primarily as an examination body for one-and-a-half decade, the IK Gujral Punjab Technical University (PTU) is now being projected as an academic centre with a provision of total 550 seats in 13 academic departments in the main campus for the first year.

An information brochure of the same was released today regarding the availability of seats in various departments of the university, which includes civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, mechanical engineering, food engineering, chemical sciences, physical sciences, media and mass communication, management studies, architecture and international resource centre of human values and professional ethics.

The admission brochure was released in the university campus in the presence of Nandeesh Babu, DGM Projects, EdCIL India (an enterprise of Government of India) and SP Sharma, advisor EdCIL India. This brochure includes admission guidelines, courses list, fee structure, university teaching faculty and other government notifications. Vice-Chancellor of the university and secretary, technical education, Rakesh Verma, said, “The objective of the university is to do quality admissions. The seats are less in number because of quality reasons. The university admissions are being done as per the project of EdCIL India, an enterprise of the Government of India. The students will be given all the facilities and a better platform in every field. Engineering admissions will be a part of centralised online counseling and for the rest of the admissions, merit and other norms will follow.” — TNS
