Two ITI students were killed and around 20 passengers were left injured after the mini bus they were travelling in overturned near Rajwal village at 8.30 am today. Most of the injured were ITI and college students.
The deceased have been identified as Saurav (18) and Munish Kumar (18) both residents of the Rajwal. The duo studied at ITI located in Sandhwal village and used to commute daily on the same bus to reach their institute.
The injured have been admitted at the BBMB hospital in Talwara, Civil Hospital, Mukerian and Dasuya. After the accident, the bus driver and conductor fled the spot.
Balkrishna, an injured passenger who commutes in the same bus daily, said the driver was over speeding.
ASI Harminder Singh, who arrived on the spot, said that those seriously injured have been admitted at hospitals. Singh said efforts were being made to arrest the driver and conductor of the bus, who fled from the spot.
Dasuya MLA Arun Dogra met the injured and directed Principal Medical Officer of BBMB Talwara and SMO Civil Hospital Dasuya to provide best medical facilities to the accident victims.
