The Punjab Police have nabbed gangster Gagandeep Singh alias “Judge”, who is considered to be a “sharp-shooter” and wanted in over a dozen cases registered across the state. Gagandeep is also considered close to notorious gangster Jaipaul, the main accused in the murder of gangster-turned-politician Jaswinder Singh Rocky.

Gaurav Garg, SSP, Ferozepur, said the police had also arrested another wanted gangster Varinder Singh alias Ricky of Singha Wala village in Moga district who had come to pick up Judge from Ferozepur in his Magnum Optra car. The police also recovered cash amounting to Rs 1.67 lakh from his car. Ricky was earlier booked in four cases, including the Nabha jailbreak incident.

“Varinder is an aide of Gurinder Singh Gori, the brother-in-law of noted gangster Gurpreet Singh Sekhon, besides Kulbeer Neeta and Seera Sidhana, both of whom are also wanted criminals. Sources said Ricky was involved in hotel and finance businesses and was reportedly acting as a conduit to supply vehicles and other utilities to gangsters in the Nabha jailbreak case.

Earlier, Judge was nabbed from the city bus stand while he was waiting for his accomplice to pick him up. Judge was involved in a double-murder case that took place in Ferozepur last year. He had also opened fire during the recently concluded Assembly elections outside a polling booth in Guru Har Sahai. — OC
