Three minor Dalit girls have been kidnapped in different incidents in the district, police sources revealed here today.
A 17-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly abducted from her house at Burj Dunna village in Nihalsinghwala subdivision of the district by an unidentified youth yesterday.
The police have registered a criminal case under Sections 363 and 366 of the IPC.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused was known to the girl. The girl’s father said she slept with them at night, but was found missing in the morning.
In another incident, a 16-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly abducted from Nihalsinghwala town by a youth identified as Harbhajan Singh of the same town yesterday.
Meanwhile, another 17-year-old Dalit girl, belonging to the Bauria community, was allegedly abducted by a youth at Budhsinghwala village in Baghapurana subdivision of the district yesterday.
The girl’s mother, Mukhtiar Kaur, said the girl went out of the house for some work when a youth identified as Uttam Singh of nearby Waddaghar village abducted her. Preliminary investigations revealed that the girl was known to the youth. However, the police have registered a case under Sections 363 and 366 of the IPC against Uttam Singh.
