32 businessmen caught gambling at Radisson Blu hotel in Ludhiana

As many as 32 businessmen were nabbed last night by the city police in a gambling raid on a five-star hotel, Radisson Blu, on the Ferozepur road. The gambling was on in a room on the fifth floor of the hotel.

The nabbed businessmen were reportedly from various cities of the region.

The raid was conducted by the city police after it received a tip-off that a room has been booked by several businessmen in the hotel, where gambling on a large-scale was going on.

The police have also seized Rs 32 lakh from the businessmen.   

Unaware of any such activity: Hotel management

In a statement, the hotel management said, “This development comes as a shock to us wherein our premises got used for such nefarious activities.

“We as a management were totally unaware of any such activity ever at our premises. Management of the hotel had never allowed any such activity in its history and we condemn such activity.”

The statement added that the hotel management has initiated suo-motu internal inquiry to find the accomplices, if any, at hotel’s end. 

“We will take serious action against the guilty, if any found,” it said.
