Sangrur, June 8
With the support of other organisations, the Adarsh School Union of Punjab today organised a state-level convention in Sangrur and later burnt an effigy of private companies to protest the alleged exploitation by them. They demanded that the state government should take control of Adarsh Schools and take them under the Education Department.
They want that the state government should remove private companies from all Adarsh Schools as the government was already paying 70 per cent of the money to run these schools.
The government should take legal action against companies for terminating the services of teachers without valid reasons. Students should get all facilities and the FIR registered against teachers in Bhawanigarh for protesting on a national highway should be cancelled. A probe should be conducted into allegations of financial irregularities in all schools. — TNS
