The Barnala district administration today launched its first mobile app "e-Barnala" to help residents calculate stamp duty for sale/purchase, mortgage, will or property transfer.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ghanshyam Thori said the mobile app was a part of the Government to Citizen (G2C) model of e-governance of the Centre.
The DC claimed that it was the first calculator developed in the state that had incorporated all collector rates of the district. Any citizen can easily calculate the exact amount of government charges to be paid by simply selecting the area code.
"Every citizen will have access to official contact details of officers from police, health, education, revenue and welfare departments by simply selecting the department and his village. The app will not only provide the contact details, but also the location of the office on Google," the DC said.
