Busy on phone, driver mows down woman
Garhshankar, August 17
A bus crushed a woman, riding a scooter, to death near Golian village, on Thursday.
Eyewitnesses told the police that the bus was being driven recklessly and the driver was talking on a mobile phone when the accident occurred.
Salvinder Kaur (40) of Posi village was going to Garhshankar on her scooter when a speeding bus going from Hoshiarpur to Chandigarh hit her near Golian village. Salvinder Kaur was rushed to the local Civil Hospital in a critical condition, from where she was referred to a private hospital in Nawanshahr. She died on way to the hospital.
The bus driver and conductor fled, leaving the bus behind. — OC
