Charges against 3 in Maqsudan case

In case of Maqsudan grenade attack at Jalandhar, charges have been framed against three accused, all activists of Kashmir-based terror outfit Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind in special court of the NIA here today.
The accused, Amir Nazir Mir, Fazil Bashir Pinchoo and Shahid Quyoom, have been charged under Sections 120-B, 121 (waging war), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence), 122 (collecting arms and explosives with intention of waging war), 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC, Section 18, 18-B, 20, 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, and Section 6 of the Explosive Substances Act. The court has slated November 4 as next hearing date.
On August 30, the NIA had filed a supplementary chargesheet against the accused for supplying four grenades that were used in the attack at a police station in Maqsudan (Jalandhar).
Notably, the court had rejected bail application of Amir Nazir. The NIA had filed the chargesheet on May 6.
In another case of Jalandhar terror module, charges have been framed against four Kashmiri students, Sohail Ahmad Bhatt, Zahid Gulzar, Mohammad Idris Shah alias Nadeem and Yusuf Rafiq Bhatt.
The police had claimed to have busted the terror module by arresting the Kashmiri students from the hostel of a private engineering college, located at Shahpur, Jalandhar.
