College gets nod to add 50 MBBS seats

The Medical Council of India (MCI) has approved 50 more MBBS seats at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital (GGSMCH) in Faridkot.

Now, the medical college has 100 recognised MBBS seats. These increased seats were granted to the college by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS).

The executive committee of the MCI had recommended the move to the Union Government after considering an assessment report.

The MCI had carried out an assessment of the college and hospital in December and January. The recognition granted to the MBBS course is for five years, after which it will be reviewed.
