Correction in school certificates made easy

Giving relief to a number of students, the Punjab School Education Board has decided to rectify all errors related to name, date of birth etc in certificates issued from 1970 to till date.
The process in this connection has been simplified and the corrections would be made in the certificates with presentation of required documents.
According to a board spokesperson, now the students can apply for corrections in their certificates in the district offices of the board.
“Earlier, the students intending to make such corrections in their certificates after passing of five years had to knock the doors of the court. Now, the process has been simplified,” he said.
A student will have to pay Rs 500 per year from the year of passing examination and Rs 1,000 per error to the board for rectification of the error, the spokesperson said, adding that there was no need to make rounds of the board’s head office in Mohali as the work would be done in the district offices of the board.
