Abohar, November 9
CPI national secretary Atul Kumar Anjan said today that demonetisation’s stated objectives of combating corruption, black money, counterfeit currency and terrorism had all fallen flat.
Addressing party workers at Jalalabad and Fazilka today, he said the BJP-led NDA government has totally failed in resolving the people’s woes.
As many as 1,214 persons have reportedly figured in the Panama Papers and Paradise Papers leaks, but the NDA govt was protecting them as most of them are top businessmen, corrupt politicians and highly placed bureaucrats, he alleged.
The government should come up with a White Paper listing their names as well as plans to tackle them under the law, the CPI leader said. — OC
