Chandigarh: Domestic workers in Punjab will be registered with the State Social Security Board so that benefits under various social security and welfare schemes be extended to them. The decision has been taken in a meeting of the board for unorganised workers held under the chairmanship of Balbir Singh Sidhu, Labour Minister. He said the domestic workers would be provided a unique identity card, which would be linked to their Aadhaar numbers. Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary, said any domestic worker above 14 years of age would be eligible for the registration. tns
