SAD leader Bikram Majithia on Monday said he did not need a certificate from Navjot Sidhu on his family’s credentials.
Addressing a press conference here, Majithia said his family was being targeted to silence his voice in the Assembly. He said the Congress people were targeting his family instead of addressing various issues concerning the public.
He said the government had failed to address the issues of farmers and unemployment.
Majithia said it is the first state government that did not want the House to run.
He also raised questions about Congress MLA Kuljit Nagra’s assets, saying the latter’s father had retired as a patwari, so how come he had amassed so much wealth.
Earlier, Sidhu, addressing a press conference, alleged Sunder Singh Majithia’s support to General Dyer.
Sidhu and other Congress leaders Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Kuljit Nagra tried to present evidence on the issue and challenged Majithia to a debate.
They said the Akali Dal in the past had condemned Sunder Singh Majithia, adding that it was ironic that those very people who had been condemned by the Akali Dal in the past had now grabbed the Akali Dal.
Later, AAP MLAs walked out of the House for not being allowed to speak on cut motion.
As the entire treasury Bench stands behind Manpreet Badal, the Akali-BJP MLAs too walked out of the House.
Absolute pandemonium was witnessed in the House as Badal family feud between Sukhbir and Manpreet was played out. The debate on budget got murkier as cousins traded barbs.
