He said these smugglers came back to Punjab after a few days in hiding and they were suspected to be in Anandpur Sahib

Khakh said teams of Anandpur Sahib police were alerted and one of the teams intercepted a white Scorpio car and apprehend four persons, namely Jagdev Singh and his accomplices Gurdev Singh of Kot Ise Khan, Gurwinder Singh, alias Jindu and Lakhwinder Singh, alias Kaku, both from Daulewala village. The AIG said 25 gm of intoxicant powder had been recovered from Jagdev Singh and a case was registered against all accused at Anandpur Sahib.

On August 6, the Jalandhar Counter Intelligence Wing and Moga police had arrested two persons of this gang who were smuggling poppy husk from Rajasthan to Punjab. They had impounded a truck loaded with 180 bags of poppy husk.

"A new trend had been witnessed during the interrogation of the accused. They are paying drug money through hawala operators of Punjab to their counterparts in Rajasthan. This link would also be investigated during the interrogation as it is a dangerous trend." — HPS Khakh, AIG, counter intelligence
