Mohit, whose father was then posted in Punjab, along with nine others was booked for robbery of diamond jewellery worth several crores of rupees at gunpoint.

Though the case was registered in Punjab, it was transferred to Faridabad in 2011 to ensure transparency and check unnecessary influence of the kin of the accused on the trial of the case, it is reported.
