Fake degree racket: Minister orders inquiry

Brahm Mohindra, Minister of Medical Education and Research, has ordered a Vigilance inquiry into the fake certificate and degree racket. Fake degrees of the Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) were issued in the name of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.

In a press release, the minister said the matter was detected by Dr Sanjeev Goyal, Registrar, Board of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine, when a person visited the board’s office for renewal of his registration certificate. Dr Goyal found the certificate fake.

Brahm Mohindra said, “Those duping the candidates and endangering the lives of people should be brought to book.”
