Sangrur, October 11
A team from Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Mohali, today collected samples from the four cracker godowns of Sular Gharat where a blast in a cracker godown on September 19 had killed seven persons.
The Sangrur administration has decided to shift all crackers, presently stored in four godowns near Sular Gharat, to a new store in Kakkarwal near Dhuri.
“A team of FSL today took samples from all four godowns to ascertain their intensity,” said Yogesh Kumar, DSP, Dirba. The FSL team refused to speak to the media.
During preliminary investigation, it has come to light that only two licences had been issued in Sular Gharat under the names of Bhagirath Ram and Gandhi Ram. But the authorities detected that there were a total of five godowns in the town. After the blast, four are left. The authorities have sealed all four godowns.
