Fatehgarh Sahib, April 29
Former MP Jagmeet Brar was among two persons injured in a collision between three cars near Shamsher Nagar on the Sirhind-Chandigarh bypass road on Saturday night.
The second victim was identified as Randhir Singh of Dangherian village. Both were taken to the Civil Hospital and given first-aid treatment. The police detained Randhir Singh for further investigation.
Guljari Ram, ASI, said Randhir was travelling in his Swift car (HR-28D-1034) towards Chandigarh from Sirhind. When he reached near Shamsher Nagar, his vehicle hit another car (Pb-10-QF-92060 and then collided with yet another car (PB-1B-2749) coming from opposition direction. He said this car was being driven by Mohan Lal and Brar was seated in the rear.
Brar’s PA Baljit Singh said they were going to attend a bhog ceremony at Abohar. The former MP got some stitches on his nose and forehead, he added.
