Gangster Manna held in Ropar

The district police on Monday arrested notorious gangster Mandeep, alias Manna, of Tarn Taran here. He is a member of the Sikander Sansi gang.

Notably, eight members of the gang were already behind bars, Mandeep was the only one at large. Two pistols along with live cartridges were also recovered from him.

Ropar SSP Swapan Sharma said Jaggu Bahawalpuria, the kingpin of the Jaggu gang, who had rivalry with the Sansi gang was lodged at the Ropar jail till recently and Manna had done a recce of the area so that he could be eliminated while going to the court.

The SSP said earlier Manna was arrested in four cases of murder and Arms Act registered in Faridkot and Tarn Taran. He was wanted in five cases of attempt to murder and Arms Act in Amritsar and Tarn Taran. Now, he was a proclaimed offender in three cases, he added.
