Gian Sagar college to resume ops

Gian Sagar Medical College and Hospital run by the Gian Sagar Educational and Charitable Trust has been given essentiality certificate by the Punjab government, allowing it to start MBBS, BDS, Bachelors in Physiotherapy and Bachelors in Nursing courses.

A spokesman for the college management said as per the essentiality certificate, the first batch of 150 students would be admitted to MBBS, and 100 to BDS courses from the next (2020) academic session.

However, admissions to the Bachelors in Physiotherapy and Bachelors in Nursing would be made from this academic session and there would be 60 seats each in these two courses.

The college, which was closed down on April 5, 2017, was reopened recently. The new management plans to start multi super-specialties in almost all branches of medicine and surgery soon besides having pathological laboratories. — TNS
