The police are likely to register an FIR against former president of the DSGMC Manjit Singh GK as the Sessions Court today dismissed the revision petition filed by the former general manager of the gurdwara committee, Harjeet Singh Subedar, who was also one of the accused in the financial irregularities case.

The issue of Rs 51 lakh embezzlement of gurdwara funds was raised by independent DSGMC member Gurmeet Singh Shanty. The court also rejected Harjeet’s plea seeking time for challenging the order.

In his petition, Harjeet had alleged that Metropolitan Magistrate failed to acknowledge that the police had sought time for conducting further inquiry on the documents brought to its knowledge by GK. Even the ACP concerned had stated further inquiry needed to be conducted on account of certain new facts having been brought to the knowledge of the police.

Harjeet said preliminary investigation might be conducted by the police before registering the FIR. The Additional Sessions Judge rejected the claim of the revision petitioner who said Shanty had submitted forged and fabricated documents of corruption against GK and others.
