Fumed over the reports of construction of the Golden Temple replica having idols in Mumbai, the SGPC has decided to send a delegation to scrutinise the site.

SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has appealed gurdwara management committees in Mumbai to oppose the intolerable attempt. He said the Maharashtra government would also be approached.

“We have received reports that not only the structure is similar to the Golden Temple, but the idols of Hindu God and Goddesses are also placed in it.” He said, “A team will be sent to gauge the situation and if reports appear to be true, we will not refrain from taking action against them.” — TNS
