Abohar, June 19
A resident of Gobindgarh village, 8 km from here, was killed in a road mishap a few hours after his marriage on Sunday night.
Jagatpal (25) was returning from Kikraliya village in Rajasthan when he was killed in a multi-vehicle collision near Rawatsar on the Hanumangarh highway. His sister’s husband Sandeep (40) of Dablikhurd village and two members of another marriage party also died in the mishap.
In his complaint to the Rawatsar police, Suresh Kumar of Gobindgarh stated that the marriages of his cousin Jagatpal and two maternal brothers of Kharia village (Haryana) was solemnised with three siblings at Kikraliya village yesterday.
As the marriage party was returning, a speeding Bolero Camper hit their Innova car resulting in Jagatpal and Sandeep’s death. Newly-wed Maneesha, her younger brother Ravi and Jagatpal’s relatives Ajay and Naresh escaped with minor injuries.
Witnesses said the Bolero also hit an Alto car in which another marriage party was returning from Chak 4DWM village. Raghubir (30) and Subhash (25) of Rasaliyakhera village, who were in the Alto car, died. — OC
