Amritsar: The SGPC, Dal Khalsa and other Sikh groups on Monday paid tributes to Harjinder Singh Jinda and Sukhdev Singh Sukha, who were hanged on October 9, 1992, for assassinating Gen Arun Vaidya, the architect of Operation Bluestar.
Bhog of akhand path and ardas were organised at the Akal Takht to commemorate the duo’s 25th death anniversary. Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh skipped the occasion.
Golden Temple head priest Giani Jagtar Singh and others honoured Jinda’s brother and sister and Sukha’s niece with siropas.
Dal Khalsa president HS Cheema and spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh termed Jinda and Sukha martyrs of the Khalistan struggle. Others present included SAD (Amritsar) general secretary Jarnail Singh Sakhira, Damdami Taksal spokesperson Ajaib Singh Abihasi and AISSF leaders Karnail Singh and Manjit Singh Bhoma. TNS
