Hoshiarpur, April 28
Tarsem Singh, father-in-law of Kiran Bala, who went to Pakistan on pilgrimage and married a Lahore man there, on Saturday submitted a complaint to the SSP in his regard.
He alleged that the way the SGPC was now ignoring the case, there seemed to be a deep conspiracy. Seeking a high-level probe into the matter, he said a case should be registered against SGPC officials and others who had recommended Kiran’s name for the jatha and helped her get visa.
Tarsem Singh said he called Nachhatar Singh of Nangal, who was also part of the same jatha, on Friday. Nachhatar told him after entering Pakistan, police officials of that country were seen roaming around Kiran and interacting with her.
He said after reaching Lahore, men and women members of the jatha were separated and sent to different rooms, where also Pakistani police personnel came to meet Kiran. She remained with the jatha till April 15, but disappeared the next day on the pretext of buying ‘rumala sahib’.
Tarsem Singh alleged that the SGPC was now ignoring the case. He said it should be probed that which SGPC official recommended the name of Kiran Bala for the jatha so that he could be booked. — OC
