He claimed that the actual cost of land was about Rs 1 crore, which his uncle illegally transferred on the pretext of getting sanctioned a bank loan. “We still have possession of the land. Nobody wants to die. Even I have young kids. Now, the uncle’s family is threatening us. My uncle’s daughter-in-law has threatened my sister settled abroad, saying they would ask the police to act against us,” said the victim in his video.

He further alleged, “My uncle was a tehsildar and the revenue department officials were working under him, thus they cheated us. He has made properties worth Rs 7-8 crore. The source of income should be investigated. He has 30 acres here in the village and one house each in Patiala and Zirakpur in his daughter’s name. Besides, he has a plot worth Rs 50 lakh in Muktsar. Is the government unaware of it?”

Muktsar SSP Sushil Kumar said, “A case will be registered after recording the victim’s statement.”
