The Lok Insaaf Party, led by MLAs Simarjit Singh Bains and his brother Balwinder Singh Bains, has welcomed the move of Taksali leaders to float an Akali outfit. Simarjit told The Tribune that he supported anyone who defied the Badals and vowed to free the state from their clutches. He said his party would take a call soon on the invite by Khadoor Sahib MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura and other leaders.
However, the rebel group of AAP MLAs led by Sukhpal Khaira is unlikely to have an alliance with the Taksali leaders.
Brahmpura, along with Sewa Singh Sekhwan and Dr Rattan Singh Ajnala, had on Sunday invited like-minded parties and leaders to join them for providing a viable alternative to the Congress and the Akalis in the state.
Sources said volunteers supporting the Khaira group had advised the leaders not to be associated with any Akali outfit.
Responding to a query, Khaira said his group was busy preparing for the Insaaf March and would take a call on the Taksali leaders’ invite later.
