Over 3,500 more teachers to be hired

Chandigarh, September 12

The state government today invited applications for the recruitment of 3,582 master cadre teachers. Earlier, the appointment letters were handed over to 1,000 teachers.

Education Minister Aruna Chaudhary said, “The Education Department’s move to recruit 3,582 teachers carries behind it the rationale of lifting the standard of government schools, besides filling all posts of teacher as per the CM’s directions.”

The minister said the posts of master cadre include 1,138 posts of science, 739 of mathematics, 521 of Hindi, 398 of Punjabi and 393 each of English and social science.

Prashant Kumar Goyal, Director of Recruitment Board of the Education Department, said: “The information regarding the application process is availble on www. educationrecruitmentboard.com.”
