An Indian-origin man in the UK, who was stabbed in Manchester city this week, succumbed to his injuries on his 63rd birthday. Ujjal Singh died after being attacked in the city's Crumpsall area on December 1. He was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary after the knife attack but he died at the hospital, the Manchester Evening News reported.
“Ujjal Singh sadly passed away on December 1, the day of his 63rd birthday,” Singh’s family said in a statement. He is survived by his wife, four children, nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.
A 37-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has now been bailed until February next year, pending further enquiries. Another man arrested on suspicion of the murder remains in police custody for questioning.
"We have now made two arrests, but the investigation will continue until we understand exactly what happened,” the police said. PTI
