IRCTC Group General Manager Awadesh Kumar took the delivery from RCF Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer MP Sinha. The rake has come up on the pattern of Maharaja Express already being run by the IRCTC.
The train is likely to be an attraction for tourists from Thailand, Bhutan, Japan, China, Sri Lanka and other countries. It will chug along Buddhist destinations, including Bodh Gaya, Budh Vihar, Sarnath and Kushinagar.
RCF officials said the new rake has four first AC coaches, two second AC coaches, two dining cars, two power cars, a third AC coach for staff and a pantry car. It has been designed and manufactured in six months. The passenger capacity is 24 and 30 for first and second AC coaches, respectively.
The exterior of the coaches has been provided with a fleet graphic film depicting the Indian heritage through various monuments and symbols. The interior too has been furnished by PVC-based films having a leather finish.
The rake is equipped with bio-vacuum toilets, modular toilets and bathrooms, touch-less taps, soap dispensers, hand dryers, CCTV cameras, smoke and fire-detection systems, lockers, comfortable sofas and adjustable reading lights.
