Abohar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) at Hanumangarh has registered a case against a sarpanch and gram sevak for fraud in arranging cement concrete blocks in 2015-16. Additional Superintendent of Police Ganesh Nath Sidh on Monday said a complaint by Rajinder Singh of Budhwalia village was filed against Chayian village sarpanch Pradeep Pareek and gram sevak Pawan Aggarwal. The case was initially scrutinised by the ACB Headquarters in 2017. The probe indicated that the duo violated specifications and norms in arranging the blocks, the deals appeared to be fraudulent. OC
Two commit suicide in Abohar
Abohar: The body a 35-year-old man was found hanging from a tree in his field on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Lal Chand, who didn't return home after voting at a polling station in Bhangerkhera village near Abohar on Sunday. The family of the deceased said he was upset for the past few days. Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man of Jabrasar village in Hanumangarh reportedly ended life by consuming insecticide near a pond. The deceased has been identified as Monu Suthar, a worker at a sweet shop. An empty bottle of insecticide was spotted near the body on Monday. OC
